How we rebuilt EBM RentCover's website on WordPress, migrated 205 pages without losing SEO equity, and delivered a custom quoting tool on time.
EBM RentCover needed an updated website design that worked for three audiences, a custom online quoting tool, and full control of the CMS.
What started as a forced software upgrade turned into a chance to fix things that had been sitting on the backlog for years. New structure, new quoting flow, new back end, same domain.
The site serves landlords researching cover, property managers recommending policies, and real estate agents referring clients. Each group arrives with different questions and takes different paths through the site.
We mapped site structure and navigation against those three journeys and the SEO groundwork followed the search behaviour of each audience.
EBM RentCover needed a quoting tool that could run product-specific eligibility questions before generating a quote. Every off-the-shelf option either couldn’t handle the logic or couldn’t connect cleanly to how their internal teams already worked. So, we built it from scratch.
Before scoping the full build, we shipped a working prototype so EBM RentCover could use it and provide feed back from day one, what went to production was built from their internal testing feedback.
The quote tool is embedded throughout the site. On product pages, the “Get a Quote” button opens the eligibility questions for that specific product. A callback request option is also available sitewide and built into the quoting flow.
The product comparison table has 4 variants: Ultra, Platinum, RentCover ShortTerm (contents only), and RentCover ShortTerm (building and contents). Each policy feature has its own expandable dropdown. Users slide between products to compare, matching the pattern from the previous site so existing customers keep their muscle memory.
Real estate agents who refer clients to RentCover have their own section of the site. The Agent Hub has its own content, its own Meet the Team page, and its own journey separate from the consumer experience.
The site runs on WordPress. Integrations include an Ebix payment gateway via iFrame, MailChimp newsletter signup, Gravity Forms, and Distl’s BirdBrain SMTP plugin for email delivery. Content migration covered 172 blog posts and 33 content pages from the legacy CMS. The SEO footprint the editorial team had built carried across intact through to launch to ensure rankings and authority was maintained.
