Let’s get started
we’d love to hear from you.
Growing the Distl team is a carefully considered process – the right candidates need the perfect balance of expertise, experience and cultural fit. Marketing team lead, Ryan Wilson, believes we’ve found just that in our new recruits.
‘The key to agency success – from both a cultural point of view and to deliver results for our clients – is having talented, excited team members. I think we’ve ticked all the boxes with these three new hires. They each come with a wealth of experience across multiple marketing disciplines and I’m looking forward to them helping our team and our client base thrive.’
First to join us was Cam Dobie, whose extensive freelance experience in ecommerce and startups includes branding, product testing, SEO, email marketing and Shopify. Despite his steady flow of clients, Cam found he wasn’t enjoying the 24-hour business life of freelancing.
‘The structure, communication with talented peers and work–life balance that goes along with working in an agency was something I was missing.’ he said. As well as looking forward to working with and learning from the team, Cam is keen to help Distl’s clients achieve great results. ‘In general, my motivation is being able to help people and businesses. In applying my own learnings in ads, digital marketing and ecommerce over the years, I hope that I will really be able to help the SEO team but also be an asset to the whole Distl team so we can succeed in helping clients grow and improve their business.’
More recently, we were joined by Sian and Simon, two former graphic designers who both came onboard as digital account managers. Sian previously worked as a graphic designer while studying her masters in marketing, after which she worked in a digital agency, then with boutique apartment developer, Stirling Capital, before becoming a project marketing coordinator with Satterley Property Group.
‘My past roles have always varied and allowed me to pick up a variety of skills whilst dealing with a range of stakeholders. So, it only felt right to make the move to an account management role in a digital marketing agency with great values that I strongly resonated with,’ she said.
When asked what she was most looking forward to about joining the Distl team, Sian told us, ‘There’s such a unique team at Distl with so much knowledge that I’m really excited to learn from. I’m looking forward to being a part of a workplace that works holistically to produce quality results while actively learning from each other. Also, it’s great to be part of a team that shares similar values and are really encouraging and supportive.’ Simon agrees.
After a decade of working as a graphic designer across a range of industries spanning from aged care (Amana Living) to professional sports (Perth Wildcats), Simon was ready for something new, and feels like Distl is the perfect fit. ‘I wanted to try my hand at something different and pivot into account management. Distl ticked all the boxes for me in terms of people, culture, and work flexibility, with a forward-thinking mindset. I’m really looking forward to working with such a mix of clients from different industries, helping these clients exceed goals and evolve their brands. I can’t wait to bounce ideas off coworkers, expand my skillset and constantly be challenged. Oh! And meet more doggos.’
We’re looking forward to seeing our three new team members shine in their new roles, sharing our knowledge with them, and tapping into their experience to get the best results for our clients and our team. Welcome aboard!
